Background…

S.A. v B&I Lions - 2nd Test - Pretoria
I am Chris, recently graduated student in the UK with a passion for sports and looking to forge a way into the industry. I am a huge sports fan; always have and always will be…primarily a football and Watford FC fan, although I keep my eye on everything sports-based and recently followed the British & Irish Lions to South Africa. I try and follow as much sport as I can live and recently had the chance to see an inter-islander Rugby match in Fiji, an NBA match in LA, an NCAA basketball match in Las Vegas, and a Super 14 match in Auckland.
I graduated through Loughborough University reading my BSc. in Sport Science and Geography, followed up by an MSc in the Sociology of Sport at Loughborough. My MSc thesis was regarding the portrayal of the NFL in the American media so you can see that I am not just interested in the offside trap in Football. I am looking into careers within the sporting industry and would ideally end up as a sponsorship manager for a global goods corporation or sporting franchise now working within the sports industry on behalf of a global client which will hopefully allow me to work on some very exciting projects – mainly based in the UK [for now!].
This blog is basically going to serve as my vent for all things sports-related [that interests me], while also serving as somewhere to share some of the funnier things around the sporting world. It is by no means going to be just a football-based one and I hope it appeals to many people from across the world…
My aim is for it to become a blog which appeals to people across the sporting industry – serving them with some upto-date news, thoughts and opinions on the latest events and news. I will use the page to give my views on much of this and hope that you readers will contribute. Do not hesitate to comment on any of my articles – even if it’s just to say hi.
Game on!
